Our World 2050 Youth Ambassadors are passionate young leaders who stand alongside us in amplifying the voices of children and young people worldwide.
They help bring the visions of the next generation into schools, communities, and global conversations—making sure that children's dreams and concerns are not just heard, but truly valued. They play an important role in supporting a global movement for a sustainable, fair, and hopeful future.
Lisa Hoerning
Youth Ambassador, UK
Lisa, 21, studies Geography and Politics at Exeter University's Cornwall campus. She is an advocate for diverse youth inclusion in green politics and currently serves as Chair of the Future Forum. Her journey began with Fridays for Future, and she has since contributed to campaigns such as Teach the Future and served on various youth councils and advisory boards. When not studying or campaigning, Lisa can usually be found in the sea or on her bike! As a Youth Ambassador, Lisa will enhance her focus on strengthening youth voices in tackling climate and nature crises.
Katherine Almquist
Youth Ambassador, US
Katherine, 24, is a PhD student in Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences at Northwestern University. Guided by a lifelong passion for environmental understanding, community collaboration, and mentorship, she has dedicated herself to driving positive change locally and globally. As a Youth Ambassador, Katherine is committed to amplifying children's voices and ensuring they are part of the global conversation on our shared future.
Ambrose Iradukunda
Youth Ambassador, Uganda
Ambrose is a Bachelor of Environmental Science student from Uganda, born and raised in a community facing daily human–wildlife conflict near Queen Elizabeth National Park. Inspired by his experiences, he founded the youth-led Green Guardians Conservation Hub to promote education and conservation across the Kigezi region. As a Youth Ambassador, Ambrose is committed to empowering young people to embrace sustainable solutions and drive change for the future.
Rafael Tedeschi Barone
Youth Ambassador, US
Rafael, 29, is an MBA student at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, with a background in engineering and consulting. Driven by a passion for sustainability and social impact, he is building ventures that tackle climate change, from decarbonization strategies to coastal-erosion solutions. As a Youth Ambassador, Rafael is committed to empowering young people to take part in shaping a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future for all.
Connor Plummer Colom
Youth Ambassador, UK
Connor is a student at the University of South Wales, pursuing a BSc in International Wildlife Biology. With a passion for ornithology, botany, and wildlife conservation, he has contributed to research on endangered species and innovative monitoring projects across Europe. As a Youth Ambassador, Connor is passionate about addressing climate change and protecting biodiversity through conservation. He believes that collaboration between youth and experienced voices can create a powerful impact for a sustainable future.
Olivia Dixon
Youth Ambassador, UK
Olivia is a marine biologist, ocean conservationist, divemaster, and science communicator. With a background in both marine biology (mostly sharks!) and science teaching, she is dedicated to making marine science accessible through outreach, education, and mentoring the next generation of ocean stewards. As a Youth Ambassador, Olivia believes that empowering young people with knowledge and a voice is key to protecting our ocean and shaping a sustainable future.
Henriëtte Maitland
Youth Ambassador, Australia
Henriëtte is an ocean enthusiast based in Australia. She works with the Ocean Impact Organisation, a non-profit dedicated to transforming ocean health through inspiration, education, and investment in breakthrough solutions. She believes in creating hope, enthusiasm, and optimism in the face of climate change through stimulating creativity and innovation with the new generation of wavemakers. As a Youth Ambassador, Henriëtte is driven to help young changemakers turn bold ideas into tangible action for a thriving planet.
Malene Vistisen Faseth
Youth Ambassador, Denmark
Malene is a molecular biology student at Aarhus University, with a love for plants, proteins and science communication. She has won multiple awards, including the Lundbeck Foundation's Communication Award (2023) and the Future Tech Star Award (2024). She is deeply passionate about building bridges between youth, experts, and decision-makers - driving innovative solutions that reach far beyond 2050. As a Youth Ambassador, Malene looks forward to using her voice, experience, and commitment to inspire dialogue, share knowledge, and engage other young people in shaping a greener, fairer, and more sustainable world.
Victoria Adwet
Youth Ambassador, Kenya
Victoria is a communications graduate, born and raised in the lakeside city of Kisumu, Kenya. Driven by a desire for meaningful youth inclusion, she founded the Kisumu Youth WASH Parliament where she leads young people in championing access to clean water, sanitation, and climate resilience across communities in Kenya. Her work connects youth, policymakers, and local communities, turning awareness into action through storytelling, school outreach, and public campaigns that inspire behavioral change.
As a Youth Ambassador, she brings her voice, creativity, and commitment to ensure that every child grows up in a world where clean water, dignity, and opportunity flow freely.
Kabi Paudel
Youth Ambassador, Nepal
Kabi is a member of the UNESCO SDG4 Youth & Student Network and Co-Chair for Health and Wellbeing, and he contributes to global conversations on education and youth empowerment.
He works closely with schools and communities to support teacher training and promote play-based, child-centered learning, while engaging parents to strengthen learning environments.
Kabi represents Nepal on global platforms and advocates for education as a fundamental right. He is passionate about empowering young people and creating safe, supportive spaces where they can thrive.
Jiayuan Tian
Youth Ambassador, China
Jiayuan is a youth storyteller and social entrepreneur from China, currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration at Columbia University (SIPA). He is the Co-Founder of OneXplore and Founder of Youth π, a global initiative amplifying over 1,000 youth voices. His global studies across seven cities with Minerva University have shaped his commitment to cross-cultural understanding and youth empowerment.
Jiayuan has represented young people on international platforms, including speaking at the United Nations on education equity and global collaboration. As a member of the UNESCO SDG4 Youth & Student Network and a 2024 Diana Award recipient, he is dedicated to helping young voices inspire positive change.
Bipana Dhaka
Youth Ambassador, Nepal
Bipana is a youth advocate and development practitioner from Nepal, committed to advancing education, empowerment, and inclusive rural development. She is the founder of The Learning Fortress, creating non-formal learning spaces in remote communities and helping children and young people build essential skills for opportunity and resilience.
Her work focuses on social action, leadership, and grassroots development, with a particular focus on rural communities where opportunities are often limited and restricted. She emphasizes non-formal education methods, soft skills development, and meaningful inclusive youth representation.
Indrani Goswami
Youth Ambassador, India
Indrani is a youth advocate and emerging researcher from India, engaged in sustainable development, gender equality, and youth empowerment. She is a first-year student and Coordinator at the GEG Global Foundation, contributing to youth development, environmental research, and policy-focused initiatives.
Her work includes engagement with global platforms such as UNICEF's climate programs, U-Report, and youth-led advocacy networks, connecting grassroots perspectives with global dialogue. As a Youth Ambassador for Our World 2050, she is committed to amplifying youth voices and helping shape a more sustainable and inclusive future.
Arissa Roy
Youth Ambassador, Canada
Arissa is an Indo-Canadian youth activist, children's book author, and global education advocate committed to building education systems that are just, inclusive, and shaped with young people at the center. At 14, she founded Project Power Global, a youth-led organization that has grown into a global initiative reaching over 50,000 people.
She was recently elected as the Europe & North America Youth Representative to the Executive Committee of the UNESCO SDG4 Youth & Student Network. Her advocacy has been recognized with the Princess Diana Award, and she has been featured by CBC, UNGEI, the Malala Fund, and Plan International.
Arfat Ullah
Youth Ambassador, Bangladesh
Arfat is a Rohingya youth activist and human rights advocate committed to advancing dignity, justice, and opportunity for displaced communities. After being forced to flee Myanmar during the Rohingya crisis, he continued his education in refugee camps in Bangladesh, where he began organizing and mobilizing youth.
He is the founder of the Rohingya Progressive Network (RPN), a community-led initiative addressing gender-based violence, education for orphaned children, climate awareness, and youth empowerment.
As a Youth Ambassador for Our World 2050, he is dedicated to amplifying youth perspectives and contributing to a more just, inclusive, and sustainable future.
Seruni Salsabila
Youth Ambassador, Indonesia
Seruni is an Indonesian climate justice advocate and MSc Climate Change Management student at the University of Edinburgh. She is part of the UNIDO Youth Advisory Group representing YOUNGO, the official children and youth constituency to the UNFCCC.
She is the Co-Founder and Chairperson of Catalyst of Change ASEAN, a youth-led initiative advancing climate action, waste education, and community empowerment across Southeast Asia. Seruni has represented youth voices at COP29 and contributed to global work on climate policy, clean energy transitions, and equity in environmental governance. She is passionate about ensuring climate solutions are fair, inclusive, and grounded in community needs.
Ramandeep Nijjar
Youth Ambassador, UK
Ramandeep is an award-winning young naturalist and youth leader from the UK, with a degree in Zoology from the University of Reading. She is a trustee for Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust and an active advocate for youth engagement in nature, climate, and public participation.
Her work includes roles with UK Youth for Nature, the British Trust for Ornithology, Climate Fresk, My Life My Say, and the Generation Nature podcast. She also contributes to youth-led initiatives focused on international dialogue and expanding opportunities for young people. As a Youth Ambassador for Our World 2050, Ramandeep is passionate about strengthening collaboration across organizations and generations to help create a better future for people and planet.
Shamsiyyah Umar
Youth Ambassador, Nigeria
Shamsiyyah is a disability rights advocate, social innovator, and sustainable development leader from Nigeria. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Special Physically Challenged Care Foundation (We Are Special), where she works to advance disability inclusion through advocacy, education, and innovation. As a UNICEF Nigeria Youth Advisor, she contributes to youth-led solutions and inclusive development initiatives.
As a Youth Ambassador for Our World 2050, Shamsiyyah is passionate about creating a future where sustainability, technology, and inclusion come together to ensure that no one is left behind.
