Our World 2050

Our World 2050 is building a global movement dedicated to bring the world's most creative thinkers - children and young people - into the heart of shaping our shared future. Today, their ideas rarely reach decision-makers. Yet children see the world with fresh eyes, unfiltered creativity, and a deep desire for a hopeful future. Their perspectives are exactly what the world needs to tackle the challenges ahead.

We bring together organizations, schools, researchers, communities, and individuals across more than 100 countries to listen to children's dreams, visions, and ideas for the year 2050 - and to amplify their voices globally.

Our model is decentralized: We collaborate with existing, mission-driven organizations that already work with children and youth, have local presence, or hold specialized expertise. Each partner continues their own work while adding a simple new layer: helping us collect children's dreams, stories, and ideas for the future. Under the Our World 2050 umbrella, everyone learns from each other, contributes to a shared global mission, and becomes stronger together.

At the core, we believe that when children feel heard, taken seriously, and invited to imagine solutions, two things happen:

  • We receive unique insights and new thinking that adults often overlook, and
  • They gain hope, agency, and motivation to act, instead of being overwhelmed by fear about the future.

 

Our main activities

We listen to the children and youth and collect their dreams, ideas, and stories for 2050.

We engage children and young people aged 6–21 worldwide through surveys, conversations, workshops, and storytelling activities. This happens through our partners, schools, and our Youth Ambassador Corps - young leaders who speak with children in their own communities.

The children contribute through many channels:

  • interviews and surveys
  • drawings, films, music, and written stories
  • voice notes and conversations
  • local workshops and creative sessions

When children imagine bold futures and feel heard, they gain confidence, hope, and a sense of belonging. Their ideas become the spark for action.

We are building the world's largest dataset of next-generation visions for 2050.

Our aim is to engage 1 million children worldwide and gather their collective hopes, dreams, concerns, and visions for a sustainable future.

This global dataset will:

  • help us understand what the next generation truly wants for their future
  • inspire children across cultures by showing them ideas from peers worldwide
  • empower local communities with insights they can use for action
  • inform decision-makers, researchers, educators, and governments
  • elevate children's voices to influence real-world priorities

We want leaders at every level - from mayors to ministers to CEOs - to see the future our children are asking for, loud and clear.

We amplify children's ideas - to inspire children, communities, and global decision-makers.

We create global awareness by sharing children's dreams and ideas in beautiful, accessible, and engaging ways. Their imagination becomes a catalyst for hope and inspiration.

Through storytelling, reports, social media, art, films, exhibitions, and events, we bring their ideas to the world - because, as Einstein said,

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

Children's fresh perspectives are often the wake-up call the world needs.

We develop age-appropriate learning materials, tools, and training programs.

We are working toward a global suite of learning tools that help children - and the adults around them - strengthen their imagination, optimism, storytelling, creative thinking, and the ability to turn ideas into action. This includes:

  • age-specific teaching materials
  • imagination and scenario-building exercises
  • storytelling and communication tools (including film)
  • creativity and innovation methods
  • action-oriented toolkits
  • train-the-trainer programs for teachers

These resources will help schools and educators empower children to imagine futures, express ideas, and act upon them.
